About the Position

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant t o join a collaborative Trauma Surgery team in Denver, CO. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced trauma surgeons in a Level I Trauma Center a nd fast-paced academic teaching environment. The position focuses primarily on inpatient trauma and acute surgical care, with opportunities to develop additional skills in ICU procedures and OR assistance.

Position Highlights

• Full-time permanent position

• Level I Trauma Center

• 147 shifts annually

• 12-hour shifts

• Primarily inpatient Trauma Surgery coverage

• Approximately 3–4 outpatient clinic hours per week

• Flexible scheduling built approximately 3 months in advance

• High-acuity trauma and acute surgical patient population

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care to trauma and acute surgical patients.

• Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and monitor clinical progress.

• Assist with the management of high-acuity trauma and surgical cases.

• Perform procedures within scope of practice and hospital privileges.

• Assist in the OR as needed.

• Participate in rounds, patient education, discharge planning, and care coordination.

• Collaborate with trauma surgeons, residents, nursing, critical care, and other multidisciplinary teams.

• Provide limited outpatient clinic coverage as scheduled.

• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Requirements

• Active Colorado NP or PA license, or ability to obtain.

• 1–2 years of Trauma Surgery experience preferred.
