The Food Production Operations Manager oversees manufacturing operations for perishable goods and packaged foods, ensuring efficient and compliant processes. Leading a team of 16-30 direct and indirect reports, this role leverages ERP systems to enhance performance monitoring, vendor management, and food safety adherence. The manager also maintains strong customer relations, manages facility operations, and focuses on key metrics such as quality control, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and production volume—all without travel requirements.

 

Responsibilities

• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
• Lead and manage a team of 16-30 employees, including direct and indirect reports
• Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
• Monitor performance through reporting and analytics focused on quality, cost, safety, and volume
• Oversee supply chain and vendor relationships
• Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards
• Manage facility operations to maintain optimal conditions for production
• Maintain strong customer relations and address operational concerns
• Manage inventory and resource controls
• Enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, and local regulatory standards

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in operations management
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Expertise in process improvement and food safety standards
• Strong skills in budget management and team leadership
• Experience in vendor and supply chain management
• Ability to analyze performance reports and deliver customer service effectively
• Excellent communication skills
